The ABC Federation of Teachers was granted a charter by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) in September of 1972.  In 1980, the ABCFT became the exclusive bargaining agent for the teachers of the ABC Unified School District.  The Union and the ABC Unified School District are engaged in a partnership that is based on working together to enhance student achievement throughout the district.
